WEB DESIGN with WordPress

Holandrés is a no no-nonsense designer and developer.  Not only very pricing competitive but also dedicated to our work.  Service and communication is key to us.

When it comes to web development, there is a lot more to it than just making it look pretty and uploading your pretty files. Let me break down the process a bit so you can see what’s involved in the most basic WordPress website.

1 – Consult

When you start a project with us, we begin by assessing your needs and figuring out how to make the website meet those needs. We think about what you want your user to do, how to get your user to do that, and how you will evaluate whether it’s working or not.

2 – Design

Thinking about the information we gathered in phase 1 about what we want the user to do, we come up with a design concept. This concept may use some of your own graphics, your own logo, or we may be starting from scratch. You will offer a lot of feedback and may have multiple revisions during this process to get the design looking how you want.

3 – Development:

The design is just the starting point. Once we know how it will look, then we have to make it work. Since we develop with WordPress, that means setting up the software, the plugins, and configuring them. Then, we have to make it look how you want it to look – that design we finished up in phase 2.

4 – Content

If you have content ready, then we need to organize it, get it onto the right pages, set up the photos or images you want to use.

5 – Security:

The last thing we want is your site to get hacked. Don’t think it won’t happen to you. It could and it wouldn’t be surprising. WordPress is fantastic as a CMS and is pretty secure, but there are steps we need to take to be sure that your site is as secure as possible.

6 – Testing

We want to go through and test all your links, all your buttons, make sure your images are lining up correctly. We need to make sure it also looks great on your iPad and your mobile phone. This is the phase where we make sure everything is going to function how you want it.

If you are creating a website, it’s important to ensure that the content is high quality. Long gone are the days when you could just research relevant keywords and string them together on a site. This does not work anymore. There are two reasons for this; there is more choice on the internet which has created a more discerning audience and search engine rankings now take account of quality of content.

The internet is vast, and there is plenty of competition when it comes to attracting people to your website. If you want people to visit your site, and remain engaged, you need to make sure that the content you provide is effective. But, what does this mean? Let’s take a look at what you need to concentrate on, when it comes to producing content for your website.

Make sure the spelling and grammar is correct. Let’s face it, if you cannot get this right, are people really going to trust you to get it right when it comes to your brand?

Tell people what they need to know. This may sound obvious, but it can be tempting to try and pack as much information as possible onto the pages of your website. Stick to getting across the most important points in a succinct manner.

Make sure your content is interesting. It may not be possible to make everything on your website exciting but you should at least try to make it interesting and relevant.

All of these factors are important to consider, when it comes to producing content for your website.

And don’t forget …. keep it up-to-date and alive!!

One of the biggest benefits of social media for business is using it to increase your website traffic. Not only does social media help you direct people to your website, but the more social media shares you receive, the higher your search ranking will be.

Social media as well as providing relevant, well-written and interesting content can help you attract visitors to your website. It also helps with SEO. It certainly means that if you are running a business, you need to invest in effective content for your website. If the standard of the content on your website is below par, your search engine rankings can be adversely affected.

Hopefully, you can see why it’s so important to make sure that the content on your website is of a good standard. If this is not the case, you run the risk of missing out on customers, leads and sales. You also run the risk of losing out on valuable search engine ranking places.

Today’s informed consumer is able to quickly find your website and digital marketing presence to assess your credibility and whether you’re worthy of their time and money. Don’t lose conversions with a broken or vulnerable website.  Let us help you with this.
